Retail Lending Specialist – Evansville, IN

Department: Commercial Lending

FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time

Location: Evansville, IN

Reports To: SVP, Commercial Credit

The Retail Lending Specialist is responsible for originating consumer loans including for United Fidelity’s ‘Family Assistance Program’, (“FAP”) accurately, completing loan closing applications to ensure timely and accurate processing as well as compliance with all product requirements. The specialist will also interact with the CRA Officer regarding FAP and other consumer lending staff.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Process and close Family Assistance Program loan requests.
  • Process and close other consumer loan requests as needed.
  • Manage a pipeline of incoming applications to ensure adherence to timing & closing expectations.
  • Gather needed information to complete requests and resolve issues.
  • Partner with multiple bank departments.
  • Review supporting documents critical to the loan requests.
  • Ensure loan closing requests generated meet all regulatory, compliance requirements and policy guidelines.
  • Perform a review of critical items to ensure accuracy prior to requesting closing documents.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to UFB’s internal and external customers.
  • Consult with customers to find the right loan product/s recommendation/s for their needs.
  • Cross sell other services and products that will create more efficiency and savings for our customers.
  • Collect customers financial information and input into correct processing software.
  • Prepare files for loan administration processing.
  • Present loan applications for approval.
  • Answer customer calls regarding questions/concerns with loans.
  • Stay in communication with customers regarding status of loan applications and process.

  • Basic computer knowledge is essential.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
  • Previous lending experience, preferably in the consumer loan area.

The associate is frequently required to sit and/or stand, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools or controls that are typical or an office/bank environment. Lifting items weighting up to 10 pounds on a consistent basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 80% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, etc.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Periodic travel between locations may be required.
  • Monday – Friday, 8a-5p. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
